Frequently Asked Questions
How old do you have to be to begin training with MPX? You must be at least 18 to sign release waivers to participate in any MPX training activities.
What do you teach? MPX Training is unlike most other pro wrestling training. We teach you the basics, of course, but there isn't a lot of waiting around or "earning" your spot. You have come to us to train to become a professional wrestler and that is exactly what we are going to do. We aren't here to be your weekly workout regimen, that you should do on your own time. We teach you how to make it work inside the ring.
How long will my training take? Our original training program last six months and then you are judged based on your improvements. However, there is no time limit on training, first off, you will be learning forever. This is not a business to be taken lightly, it is not a hobby, it is a sport, it is hard work and must be treated as such, with dedication.
What should I wear to training? Workout clothes, and bring water, the gym is hot and it's hard work, you will sweat, you will be tired and sore EVERY day. Be ready to work.
When is training? We train EVERY Sunday from 3 until 8 p.m., that means that you will miss football games, family functions, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and that is tough, but it is the sacrifice you make to begin working as a wrestler, manager, valet, referee, etc.
I just want to be a __________, not a wrestler... You still train with us, you learn the ins and outs of how things work by being at training and learning alongside everyone else. Just because you don't want to be a wrestler, does not mean you walk in the first day and are what you are. All areas need training.
Should I work out outside of wrestling training? Of course, wrestling is an athletic sport just like any other athlete you need to train. Metroflex Midcities offers great deals on monthly gym memberships for everyone who trains with MPX.
Do you charge for training? Yes, Metroplex Wrestling charges a small fee that ensures not only are you serious about training with us, but to guarantee that no one's time is wasted. Not our trainers, not our staff and not your own.
I am unsure if I want to be a wrestler, can I do a tryout? We offer a one day observation tryout where you can come out to the gym and see what a training session looks like so you can evaluate whether or not this is something you want to pursue.
I always wanted to be a wrestler but I am too (small, big, etc.)... This is your home, we don't turn people away. There are ways to improve your physical condition and EVERYONE has something to offer. Our trainers are great at spotting passion and talent so don't be shy, everyone who works in the wrestling business started as a dreamer, a kid watching the men and women on TV and thinking one day, it could be them. This is your chance to make that dream a reality.
