CATEGORIES
SONIC — AMV can be any theme (action, drama, comedy, etc.) provided it features content based on Sonic the Hedgehog. Videos must be set to music, no fan dub clips of Sonic shows please. Some original animation will be accepted. No videos longer than 5 minutes.
COMEDY — AMV’ should be of a humorous or comedic nature. This category may contain some trailer parodies provided they remain within the time limits. No videos longer than 5 minutes will be accepted. Please submit orginal animated films to our film contest and not to the AMV.
DRAMA — This category is for any videos of an emotional nature be it happy or sad. If your video is meant to convey an emotional message it can be classified as a DRAMA. Please remember to enter your video as a COMEDY if it is not of a serious nature. No videos longer than 5 minutes will be accepted.
ACTION — This category is for any videos with a fast pace in both sound and picture. Please do not submit COMEDIES to this category or any original animation. No videos longer than 5 minutes will be accepted.
THE AWARDS
BEST OF SHOW — Editors will choose the top overall AMV based on the winners of all 4 categories. Winner gets $50 CASH & $50 Movie Trading Company Gift Card.
FAN'S CHOICE — Award will be based on a public vote at a screening of the Editor’s selected top 3 videos from each of our four categories at the convention.
Winner gets $20 gift card to Movie Trading Company
CATEGORY BEST OF — The top 3 winners from each of the four categories will be selected by the editors. First place in each category will get a $10 gift card for Movie Trading Company. 2nd and 3rd places in each category will receive an award certificate.
RULES & INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Rule number one is to keep it CLEAN! This is an all ages convention so we can only accept all ages rated AMVs. No profanity, drug references, excessive gore & blood, suggestive adult or straight up sexual content. If you submit a video that contains anything that couldn’t score a PG rating it will be instantly disqualified. If you submit multiple videos and one is unclean all will be discarded. Sorry – there are minors here, guys! This includes the S word, the famous F word, and do we really need to go into the rest of em?
2.
Only submit your own recent work. The AMV must have been made BY YOU no earlier than 2008.
3.
You may only enter one video per category.
4.
Only use clean and clear audio and film in your AMV. If your video is too poor to view clearly we may discard it.
5.
No logos or subtitles can be visible in your AMV.
6.
American cartoon animation or game images are not allowed in this contest.
7.
All AMV’s will be broadcast in the hotel on our event channel during the convention if we receive more entries than we have time to show at the AMV event.
8.
Credits must be shown at the beginning or end of your video in the following format:
AMV NAME
CREATOR (YOU)
ARTIST –ALBUM/SOURCE (Audio)
Anime
If you submit a video without credits it will be disqualified.
9.
All videos must be in a universal format for both Mac and PC — EX: AVI, WMP, DIVIX, DVD, XVID, QUICKTIME. You must submit your video via upload – no streaming, sorry!
10.
We will accept videos only in Frame size 720x480 -Standard or 1920x1080 -Widescreen
