Can’t afford a membership pass but you still want to be at the show - or do you
just enjoy helping out other fans like yourself? Then you may want to apply to
be a volunteer at the show!
Applications are now being accepted for volunteer positions at the 2010 show!
There are a wide variety of positions available and way that you can help out.
Some of the benefits of volunteering at the show are:
STAFF Members: Have access to the ‘Green Room’ and ‘Show Operations’
rooms in the hotel at the event. The Operations room will provide food for staff
and volunteers. Staff will receive a special ‘Staff’ show T-Shirt and there will be
a special after party in the hotel for Staff to have a chance to meet our guests
and celebrate a job well done! We will have other fun get togethers throughout
the year leading up to the event as well. Staff members will be entered into a
raffle for a chance to win a Nintendo Wii game system & a PET HEDGEHOG
(provided you can meet adoption requirements) & other great prizes!
*Some
heads of staff may be provided with shared sleeping accommodations at the
event.
Volunteers: Have access to the ‘Show Operations’ room. The Operations
room will provide food for staff and volunteers who are on active duty. You must
work a minimum of 4 hours at the event to receive a free badge for that day. If
you want to volunteer for all three days you will need to work a minimum of a
combined 12 hours. Volunteers will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win
a PET HEDGEHOG (provided you can meet adoption requirements) & other great
prizes!
*Volunteers who work all 3 days may also attend the Staff after party at
the hotel Sunday night.
The Operations Room: This is a junior suite at the hotel for the show’s
volunteers and staff to organize and run the event from. The show will provide food
and drink in this room for its volunteers and the room will have some crash space
for a few of those who need to stay over night at the show. If you are only working
one 4 hour shift this does not entitle you to sleep in this room! If you plan to work
less than all 3 days of the event you must still reserve your own hotel room at the
show. This room is a work place –please reserve a hotel room if you plan to acquire
many treasures in the vendor room or need to store piles of Cosplay costumes or
other supplies! If your pet hedgehog will be joining you then you will be required
to have your own guest room. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and
assistance!
The Green Room: This space is a large suite with dining area and lounge
for the guests of the show as well as a meeting place for our head Staff to gather
and organize. Some head staff will be staying over night in this room and some
head staff will have a shared guest room. The green room will be located on a
different level of the hotel away from the event floor and most attendee guest rooms.
Staff may eat here with the guests for most meals of the day we will have food in
here available as well as bottled water and
• You must be at least 16 years old by the date of the show to volunteer! You
must be able
to provide your own transportation. Having your own car is a big plus!
• Staff positions will work assigned events or general operations on all three
days of the event.
These positions require additional work before the show throughout
the year leading up to the event.
Only apply for a Staff position if you can commit this time!
• We will have meetings on the weekends twice a month up until August -
we will
increase our number of meetings a month after that.
Volunteers assigned to staff
positions are required to attend most meetings.
• No person who has ever been previously convicted of a crime or other serious
offense is eligible
to volunteer with the Show. You must be able to speak clear
ENGLISH to volunteer.
